I intend to travel Spain for a wedding in mid-June and my BRP visa expires in mid-July. I am currently holding a UK Spouse visa and have to apply for extension in July. Can I still apply for a Schengen visa or are there chances to get the visa if I apply now?

Can I travel 1 month before my visa expires UK?

Please note: If you have submitted an application outside the UK, you should not travel to the UK until you have received a positive decision on your visa application, your visa has been granted and not before the valid from date of your visa.

Can you travel to Europe with BRP?

You will need your UK biometric residence permit showing that you have valid leave for the UK that extends beyond your trip, and a blank page in your current passport. You can not apply using a travel document unless you have indefinite leave to remain (ILR) in the UK.

Can I travel in Europe with expired residence permit?

The foreign national who possesses a residence permit that has expired, but who has applied on time for it to be renewed or converted, can leave Italian territory and return to his/her country of origin, even through an external border that is different to the point of departure from Italy.

How long before my visa expires can I travel UK?

If you don't leave voluntarily within 30 days of your visa or leave expiring, you could be deported. Check what to do if you're going to be deported. If you leave after 30 days, you could be banned from re-entering the UK for between 1 and 10 years.
