I have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa issued by the Spanish Consulate in Mumbai, India. I will be travelling to Spain on the 26th of March and then to the UK on 31st of March. Would I be able to travel to France when I leave the UK?

Best Answer

A Schengen visa obtained by any of the Schengen Area member countries allows free movement to its holder within the whole Schengen Zone regarding the European Union Schengen members as well as the EFTA Schengen members, up to its validity and timeframe.

So the countries you can travel using a schengen visa are

Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Plus Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania

The visa policy can be found here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_the_Schengen_Area

These countries apply the common visa policy for short stay visas

From these, Let me conclude that you can travel to Spain, France without restiction since all of them are schengen members but UK is not a schengen member.

Can I travel to multiple Schengen countries with single-entry visa?

With one-entry visa you can travel the Schengen area only once. It is indicated in your visa as “01”. With two-entries or multi-entries you can respectively travel to the Schengen area twice or several times during the visa validity period. I HAVE A VALID LONG STAY VISA/ RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR A SCHENGEN AREA COUNTRY.

Can I have 2 Schengen visas at the same time?

In theory, it is not possible for a person to hold two valid short stay visas covering the same period. I have a valid Schengen visa but it does not cover my next intended stay, what can I do? In this case, it is possible to file a visa application for another Schengen visa to cover the next intended stay entirely.

What is a double entry Schengen Visa?

A double-entry visa (“2” on the visa sticker): allows its holder to enter the Schengen area twice during the validity period of the visa. You can thus leave the Schengen area and re-enter it during that period of time. The second time you leave the area, your visa expires.
