Do I need a schengen transit visa if I am transitting in 2 different Schengen countries?

Do I need a schengen transit visa if I am transitting in 2 different Schengen countries? - Train Track

I know this question has been asked but my situation is a bit different. I am going to Malaysia via Amsterdam on the outbound flight and returning via CDG (Paris) on the return flight from Malaysia. As I am transiting in 2 different countries on international legs, will an airport transit visa be ok for both legs or will I need to get a regular Schengen C type visa?

Best Answer

Since you won't be on any Schengen-internal flight, what you have is just two independent transits. If you need an airport transit visa for one or both of these transits, a single visa (with a sufficiently long period of validity) will be enough for both transits.

Do I need a transit visa for a connecting flight in Europe?

A transit visa is a travel document allowing you to pass through another country until you reach your destination. For example, if you are traveling from India to the US, but you need to stop in the Schengen Zone to continue your flight for the US, you require a transit visa for the Schengen Area.

Can you transit through Schengen without visa?

No, you cannot. If you have to leave the international transit area at the airport where you have landed in order to make your transfer, you cannot transit without a visa and you need a full short-stay Schengen visa.

Can I have 2 Schengen visas at the same time?

In theory, it is not possible for a person to hold two valid short stay visas covering the same period. I have a valid Schengen visa but it does not cover my next intended stay, what can I do? In this case, it is possible to file a visa application for another Schengen visa to cover the next intended stay entirely.
