Looking for beach in Long Island, accessible by transit from NYC

Looking for beach in Long Island, accessible by transit from NYC - Unrecognizable Couple Looking at Waterfall Coming from Rock

Are there any beaches in Long Island that one can get to purely by a combination of the NYC Subway, LIRR, and a short walk or some kind of shuttle bus for the last mile?

I'd be going there from Brooklyn, and I'd prefer to take less than 3 hours to travel in one direction.
