Kayaking Activities Off Phuket, Thailand - Woman in Yellow and Black Bikini Top Sitting on Green Kayak on River

A couple of friends will be staying on the Thai island of Phuket for a week and shall be located on the south east of the island in the resort of Cape Panwa. They would like to take the opportunity to try out kayaking (as they have heard it is quite popular and something they have never done before).

They would like to know:

  • How much instruction in basic kayaking is given or is it a case of "hire n go"
  • What opportunities exist to visit nearby islands whilst kayaking eg Pang Nga , Phi Phi

Best Answer

Mostly Kayaking is hire and go thing. And it is not necessary to take a tour.

I did some research about kayaking before and we did kayaking with my friend as well. As far as I know some hotels in Panwa offer Kayaks price should be around 200 - 300 baht.

We did Kayaking on Ynaui beach. There is just Kayaks for rent 200 per hour. Here is a pic from my instagram from our Kayaking: https://instagram.com/p/1XWmpjDddF/
