Is visa needed at Dublin Airport for a layover of 1 hour connection [duplicate] - White Concrete Bridge

My flight is from Chicago to Rome via Dublin Airport. Arriving and departing from the same Terminal 2. Layover is only 1 hour at 5:30 a.m. I'm a US permanent resident card holder with a Colombian passport.

Do I need a visa or transit visa?

According to the official website of Irish Immigration Service, very few countries are required to have a transit visa. Colombia (and clearly the US) are not required to have transit visa. Check this Link for the full list (+ other details) http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Transit%20visas

Do I need a visa if I have a connecting flight in Dublin?

You do not need a transit visa to connect to a flight to any country, providing you do not pass through Immigration and into Ireland (eg to re-check bags).

Can I transit through Dublin without visa?

No, you won't be able to pass through Irish Border Control with an Ireland Transit visa. Passing Border Control means entering Ireland, and you are not allowed to enter Ireland without a visa unless you are visa-exempt.

Do I need a visa to catch a connecting flight?

In general, travelers in transit through the United States require valid C-1 visas.

Do I have to go through security again for connecting flight in Dublin?

Thanks for the advice. If you have an onward connecting flight, ie one ticket, or onward journeys made on the same booking. You will not need to pass through security customs or immigration. You just stay airside and connect to your new flight that way.
