Hamburg is located on the River Elbe, and has a lot of interesting buildings, parks and artwork located in and around the river and docks. All the guidebooks seem to suggest taking a cruise/tour along the river as part of a visit to Hamburg, even just a short one. However, the commercial river tour operators seem to be somewhat expensive...
Are there any cheaper options available? Perhaps something cunning involving public transport tickets?
