Best Answer

Yes. In most cases you just ask the Agent to Gate Check the bag.

Keep in mind, it will be delivered to your last destination only. You cannot collect it at a connecting point.

Can you only take the second leg of a flight?

No. If you miss any leg of your ticketed itinerary, the airline will cancel all remaining legs of the flight.

Can I only take one leg of a flight?

If you skip the first leg on a ticket you will be classified as a no-show and all sub-subsequent flights are cancelled. So the answer is: no you cannot skip the first leg. If you are willing to pay then contact the airline and change your ticket or just use the money you are willing to pay for a hotel at the airport.

Can you check a bag one way?

Baggage basics Baggage fees are per bag and per direction. So one way = one charge. Round trip = two charges. If your flight has a connection, bags will generally transfer from flight to flight and no additional fees will apply.

Do you have to check bag both ways?

One important thing to remember when flying is that airline baggage fees are charged both ways. So, if your outbound flight charges you $30 for your first standard checked bag, expect to pay another $30 for that same bag on your return flight back home (that's $60 bucks, roundtrip).
