International connecting flight in Frankfurt, operated by different airline

International connecting flight in Frankfurt, operated by different airline - Contemporary airplanes with red beacon parked on airfield near airport service vehicles and terminal at night

I am travelling from Prague to Atlanta with a connection in Frankfurt. The PRG-FRA segment is on Czech Airlines, while the FRA-ATL segment is on United. At what point(s) will I need to go through security, customs, and baggage claim?

Long story short: how much time is required to make this connection?

Do I have to go through customs for a connecting flight in Frankfurt?

However, please be aware that if your connecting flights are booked separately the airlines are under no obligation to transfer your checked baggage to your final destination. Nor to compensate you if you miss your connection due to the first flight being delayed.

Do I have to check in again for a connecting flight different airline?

In cases where the connecting flight is one another airline or another terminal, passengers must go through a security and baggage check once again before you get on board the connecting flight to reach your destination.

How do connecting flights work internationally?

In almost all cases, if your bags are checked through to your final destination and you already have your onward boarding pass, you'll go through transit security when you land at your connecting airport instead of customs.
