I'm new at doing signatures and my signature is a little different each time (Canada)

As the title says, I never do my signature, so I've never practiced a lot. I filled out my passport application and had to sign a lot so I'm really paranoid they will send it back. It's not completely different, but it has some minor changes. Help? :(

Nobody is likely to compare the different signatures on your form(s) to see how similarly they are written. Instead, if there is ever a question about who actually filled out your form, you could be asked "Is this your signature?" And, you can probably say whether it is or it isn't even if it's not how you might normally write it.

Does my passport signature have to be the same?

Since most signatures are illegible - meaning they can't be deciphered as specific names - why would it matter? You could never figure out my name from looking at my signature! As long as you remember to use that same signature when signing anything that needs to match your passport signature, you'll be OK.

What happens if I mess up my signature on my passport?

If you signed your passport incorrectly or there is a mistake in your signature, you may leave it if it is not too bad. If you think you need to change it, simply strike a single line through the mistake and sign the correct signature. If this is not good enough, you may need to apply for a replacement passport.
