First trip for minor: dealing with transits

In a few days time, I'll be departing from Mauritius and taking an Emirates flight from here to Dubai, where I'll be in transit for 3 hours before taking a connecting Emirates flight from Dubai to Heathrow.
I'm rather nervous and anxious as this is my first flight alone and I'm not quite confident of what to do after getting off the plane in Dubai nor what to do once I land in Heathrow. I know I need to go through "Customs" or "Immigration" but I honestly have close to no idea what those are. At what point in the process do I pick up my luggage?
Can somebody collate a step-by-step list of the essential things that need doing from when the plane enters Dubai air-space to when I leave the Heathrow airport? Any tips for first-time single minor fliers would be helpful as well!

When checking in your luggage, ask the person in charge about your luggage; normally, they should be transferred automatically and you will pick them up in London.
Also, if you are a minor, you should also tell the person doing the luggage checkin; they will help you get around and will help you towards your connecting flight in Dubai airport when you arrive there.
You should not have to leave the controlled area; just find your departure gate to London, and when that is done, if you have shopping or eating to do, do it.
Don't be afraid to ask around.
