combine Schengen and student visa
what are the rules of combining different types of EU visas - specifically, the national and schengen visas. (Country = Spain).
Situation:
a person has 1 year schengen visa. He knows about 90/180 rule and does not want to break any rules. Then he receives the student (Type D) visa two times: for the second and the fourth quarter. Result is that his months of living will look like this: 3(schengen) + 3(student) + 3(schengen) + 3(student). Theoretically, he does not violate anything. On the other hand, he lives the whole year in Spain and does not cross the borders. I'm confused. Is this trick legal? What are the drawbacks and pitfalls? Thank you!
