I have a plan to attend conference held in Greece April 2020. I have already purchased return air ticket. However, I have been informed by Greece embassy in Bangkok that obtaining visa for Greece needs to wait for a long queue (until the end of April. I didn't expect this to happen (my big mistake that I didn't check before purchasing air ticket). I have written email to the Greece embassy in Bangkok, but get no response.

My friend suggested me to go for Italy visa instead. Would it be possible to enter Greece with Italy Schengen visa?

Would it be possible to enter Greece with Italy Schengen visa?

A Schengen visa is valid for the whole Schengen area.

However, you are required to apply to the country which can be considered your primary destination. Or if you stay for an equal amount of time in more than one country, then the country whos border you will cross first.

See: https://eeas.europa.eu/sites/eeas/files/frequently_asked_questions_en.pdf

As your purpose is to attend a conference in Greece and you have no business or personal need to travel to Italy at all then the Italian authorities would reject your application.

In theory, it is not possible for a person to hold two valid short stay visas covering the same period. I have a valid Schengen visa but it does not cover my next intended stay, what can I do? In this case, it is possible to file a visa application for another Schengen visa to cover the next intended stay entirely.

Is it easier to get Schengen Visa second time?

Assuming you mean a second visa (rather than a second application because the first one was inadequate), It won't necessarily be quicker the second time than the first. Different countries may take less or more time to process an application, consulate's workload may vary according to time of year, etc.

Can I apply for another Schengen Visa before it expires?

A visa can be extended if you have stayed less than 90 days in the Schengen Area over the last 180-day period and if you have not exceeded the validity period of your visa. The conditions for granting an extension of a Schengen Visa are very strict and your reason for applying must be serious and unforeseeable.
