Visitor's visa refusal

Visitor's visa refusal - Passport on Top of a Planner

If I invite someone to the UK for graduation and the person is refused a visa, does it affect me in any way in my own future application? Thanks.

Best Answer

No, it won't affect your personal visa applications but it may affect your viability as a sponsor for future applications, especially if this repeats many times.

Why would a visitor visa be denied?

An applicant's current and/or past actions, such as drug or criminal activities, as examples, may make the applicant ineligible for a visa. If denied a visa, in most cases the applicant is notified of the section of law which applies.

Can you appeal a visitor visa refusal?

Right of appeal. As of July 2013 it is only possible to appeal to the immigration tribunal against refusal of a visit visa where the grounds of appeal are on human rights grounds. Whether or not the visit engages human rights considerations therefore determines whether there is a right of appeal.

Can I apply for visa after refusal?

Yes, you can apply if you have detected a mistake in your visa application. However, a country's immigration department may ask you for the copy of your refusal to enter the country before giving you the permission to reapply. If the reasons for the visa refusal are satisfactory, you will be allowed to reapply.

Do I get a refund if my visa is refused?

In most cases, no. Your application fees can't be refunded once we start processing it. There are some exceptions.
