Are mosquitoes prevalent in Croatia's Plitvice National Park? At least in July. My guidebook has a few warnings about Zagreb but doesn't say anything about the park. Usually places with water and trees have plenty of mosquitoes.

Do you get mosquitoes in Croatia?

Croatia is no worse for mosquitoes than any other country that I have visited and I could name many worse places so just take a few precautions and enjoy yourself because Croatia is beautiful and the people are so friendly and helpful.

Are there mosquitoes in Croatia in May?

Mosquito season starts when night temperatures rise above 15C and end once they drop below. So May-September for continental and April-October for the coast, but fringe months should be ok too.

Is Plitvice lakes near Split?

Plitvice Lakes National Park is 150 miles (240 km) away from Split and definitely worth a visit as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most popular tourist attraction in Croatia. The quickest and easiest way to get there from Split is by car, a trip of 2.5-3 hours.
