A group of us are looking at a trip to Japan later this year. Joking lead to wondering about visiting a game show, watching one, and then the hypothetical 'can you even go enter one?' question.

So - is there a way to enter a game show, or at the least, be in the audience?

How to join a Japanese game show?

In Japan, it's often a two-step process: You have to first apply via postcard for a membership at the TV station's club (such as at NHK), and THEN apply for a ticket through the membership account. There will be a lottery among all participants to get tickets.
