I have a visa to stay in Mauritius, can I leave to visit another country and return and still stay until the end of my current visa?

I have a visa to stay in Mauritius, can I leave to visit another country and return and still stay until the end of my current visa? - Silver Macbook on Brown Wooden Table

I'm a UK citizen and I'm currently staying in Mauritius on a 120 day tourist visa until the end of April. I need to fly to another country for two weeks and wondered if anyone knew whether I will be able to return to and re-enter Mauritius and complete my stay in Mauritius until the end of April with my current visa? Or whether I will be refused re-entry at customs when I try to return? There's nothing written anywhere on the government websites saying I cannot make a trip abroad and then return, but it's not clearly written that I can either. Can anyone confirm either way? Thanks.

Can you travel out the country with a visa?

Unless you have another valid visa that allows you to travel in and out of the U.S. (such as an F-1 student visa), you will be stuck outside the U.S. until USCIS is done deciding on your application and has transferred it to the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for what is known as "consular processing."

How long is a tourist visa in Mauritius?

The tourist visa allows a non- citizen to visit Mauritius for a short time on vacation. The maximum period of (six) months may be granted in a calendar year on a case to case basis, subject to Immigration requirements.

How long can a tourist stay in Mauritius?

The initial maximum duration of a tourist stay in Mauritius is set at 3 months. It is possible to request an extension of the duration of the stay with the "passport and Immigration Office", for a further period of 3 months. Thus, the maximum total duration of a stay in Mauritius is 6 months, and this per year.

Why do I need a visa to enter and leave a country?

Countries have visa restrictions in order to check and control the flow of visitors in and out of the country and to prevent illegal immigration and other criminal activities. Forcing travellers to apply for a visa allows the authorities to vet potential visitors.
