How to get football tickets for Premier League when traveling
I will be visiting Manchester in few months and I am interested to get tickets to a derby football match. I am trying to figure out the best way to buy tickets for a foreigner (i. e. I will be in the city a couple of days before the match)
I have read online that suggest joining the booster clubs of teams I am interested in, as that might make tickets available. Is this possible or is there any other method?

It's just (18th December 2019) been announced that Manchester City and Manchester United have been drawn to play each other in the Carabao Cup, so it may be possible for visitors to get a ticket to either of these matches. At the moment the first leg is scheduled to be played at United's Old Trafford ground on either 6th or 7th January 2020 and the second leg at City's Etihad stadium on the 27th or 28th, but check the clubs' websites for updates.
Meanwhile the question asked about Premier League tickets, but I think it's worth mentioning that Manchester City and Manchester United now both have teams in the FA Women's Super League, giving you another way of seeing a City-United derby (and undoubtedly some great football).
City Women normally play in City's Academy stadium across the road from the main ground, while United Women play in Leigh which is some distance west of Manchester. However the 2019 season opened with a City Women vs United Women match which was played in the Etihad stadium with over 31 000 in attendance, so it's possible that some future games may also be played in the main stadiums.
