How far (and shortest route) from SFO International arrivals to the Departures level

Apparently Uber pickups are supposed to happen on the Departures level. A friend is somewhat handicapped due to carpal tunnel.

( a ) would there likely be an exception made.

( b ) if not then what would be the shortest distance for them to get to the Uber pickup location on departures level

How to get from Terminal 2 to International Terminal at SFO?

Passengers may walk or take AirTrain, SFO's automated terminal transit system, from Terminal 2 or 3 to the International Terminal A Station. Passengers not checked in for their onward flight should visit their airline's ticket counter in the International Terminal Main Hall.
