How do you behave in icelandic public swimming pools?

I've been to Iceland a few times and my relatives have informed me that when taking a bath in the public swimming pools there are a lot of rules to follow.
In Sweden, where I live, the only rule is not to swim nude so this is very confusing to me.

What must everyone do before entering the water in an Icelandic swimming pool?
So it's quite simple really:- Wash yourself without a bathing suit with soap before entering the pool.
- Put your towel in the compartments by the showers.
- Dry off before entering the locker area (feet too)
- No phones or cameras allowed in the locker rooms (not recommended at pool area either)
- No shoes.
How should you behave in the pool?
