Eastbourne/Beachy Head with a toddler

I am hoping to make a two-night trip to Eastbourne, to visit Beachy Head. I'll be accompanied by my wife and one-year old baby (most probably in a buggy). I'll take a train from London to Eastbourne, and from Eastbourne to Beachy Head I understand there is a bus service.
My questions are:
- Is Beachy Head child-friendly?
- The high-point of our visit will be the peak of Beachy Head, can I lug the buggy up to the peak?
- How long is the trip to the peak, if I decide to carry the baby in a sling/carrier?

Is Eastbourne family friendly?
Eastbourne is a great destination for a family holiday. With two kids of our own, we've tried a LOT of the child-friendly attractions - here and in wider Sussex. Can you swim at Beachy Head?
The sea is great for swimming in summer, and the beach at Birling Gap offers a sandy introduction to the refreshingly cool water. When the surf is up, Birling Gap also attracts surfers looking to catch a wave. How long is the Beachy Head walk?
A great circular walk from Eastbourne taking in the famous Beachy Head, Britains highest chalk cliff. The walk is 5 miles / 8.1km and should take around 3.5 hours to walk. to the village of East Dean where bus services run every 10 minutes back t the start. Can you walk on the beach at Beachy Head?
It's off the beaten path, and you will probably have the entire walk to yourself. It's amazing to walk underneath the cliffs at Beachy Head, and therefore see them from a different vantage point. It's also great to stand on the lighthouse itself, which is usually totally inaccessible and cut off by the sea.Eastbourne Beachy Head Picnic *VLOG One Day of my life Истборн
