I'm thinking of travelling to the UK, from a EU country, on the 29 Jun to 3 of July 2019.

Shall I need a Visa, or is my National Identity Card enough?

Best Answer

Not quite clear, but even if you are allowed visa-free travel you might need a document that can be stamped on entry, i.e. a passport.

Is UK still classed as EU for travel?

The EU has agreed to add the UK to the EU's list of visa-exempt countries (of which there are currently 61). This gives British citizens the right to travel to the EU after the transition period for up to 90 days without a visa within any 180-day period.

How many days can I spend in the EU after Brexit?

You can stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. If you visit more than one of these countries within a 180-day period, check that you do not spend more than 90 days in total across all the countries you visit.

When did the Brexit negotiation process officially begin?

The negotiating period began on 29 March 2017, when the United Kingdom served the withdrawal notice under Article 50. The withdrawal was then planned to occur on 29 March 2019, two years after the date of notification, as specified by Article 50.

Will Brexit affect travel to UK?

A fall in tourist numbers in the EU from the UK could be an immediate impact of Brexit on tourism. Before Brexit, 56% of UK outbound travel and tourism spending went to EU countries. Initial uncertainty regarding the documents necessary for a trip to Europe could lead to tourists staying away.
