Traveling for New Delhi to Frankfurt via Abu Dhabi by Eithad, I have a 18 hr. layover at Abu Dhabi airport. As I am ineligible for Transit visa , what are the options at the Abu Dhabi airport for me?

Do I need a transit visa for a connecting flight in Abu Dhabi?

Is it mandatory to travel through Abu Dhabi Airport on a Transit Visa? Yes.

Is transit allowed through Abu Dhabi?

The transit visa is valid for 14 days, starting from your arrival in the UAE. If you are transiting on the third destination on your trip itinerary, you will need to have proof of a confirmed onward flight (i.e. an air ticket). Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months.

Can we go out of Abu Dhabi airport during layover?

You need a transit visa ONLY if you plan on leaving the airport during your layover time in the Emirates. The duration of a transit visa is either 48 or 96 hours. Please keep in mind that you cannot extend a 48-hour visa to 96-hours.
