Where can I buy an electric immersion heater in Madrid, Spain

Where can I buy an electric immersion heater in Madrid, Spain - Food truck with shiny headlights parked on street

I am currently in Madrid for my job, and I badly need an electric immersion heater for having tea/coffee in my hostel room.

I have seen these are available online, but I cannot order from there since I cannot pay online.

Can anyone please tell me where I can buy such immersion heaters and if at all they are available offline in shops and how much would that cost?

You can find Kettle (or electric jug) in many stores (El Corte ingles, FNAC) in Spanish the name is "Hervidor de agua"

P.S. I posted a link to the item as an exmaple, but it can be purchased on person in the store.

Do immersion heaters use a lot of electricity?

Immersion heaters are typically 3kW. It costs around 63p to run one for an hour at current electricity prices.

Is there an alternative to an immersion heater?

Heat pumps run just like a wet central heating system, except they only require 1 unit of electricity for around 3 units of heat. The resulting hot water is then stored in an insulated water tank to minimise heat loss.

Is it better to leave an immersion heater on all the time?

Do not leave your immersion heater running all the time. No matter how well-insulated the immersion tank is, it will still lose heat and the drop in water temperature will cause the immersion heater to run repeatedly (like your kettle coming back to the boil over and over again).

What is the lifespan of an immersion heater?

An immersion heater may last for between two and three years before it burns out and needs to be changed. This time frame does vary between makes and models of water heater.
