I would like to visit Transnistria this summer. Assuming I'm allowed into Transnistria visa-free, do I have to get myself registered upon arrival? If so, how does the procedure work?

Can I visit Transnistria?

The EU-and US-citizens have the right to visit Transnistria without visa. Tourists who have the valid visa of Republic of Moldova can enter Transnistria according to this visa.

Do I need a visa to go to Transnistria?

Transnistria does not require foreign visitors to obtain a visa; they can stay for up to 45 days without a residence permit.

Can you drive to Transnistria?

Most people travelling to Transnistria from Moldova will do so from Chisinau. It's only 75km, or an hour or so drive. You can take a taxi from Chisinau to the 'Bender border' for 150 Moldovan Lei ($8). From there, after 'immigration' you can hop in a taxi for the last 15 minutes to Tiraspol for peanuts.

Is Transnistria cheap to visit?

Transnistria is a cheap destination as per European standards, and I'd say that it is a 15% cheaper than Moldova.
