Time required to visit the Prambanan temple in Indonesia

Time required to visit the Prambanan temple in Indonesia - Gray Concrete Buildings Under Blue and White Cloudy Sky

In july, the day before we will go to Borobudur. Then we have the day for Prambanan (also been recomended Plaosan Temple and Ratu Boko which are close). How long would it take? After that I am headed to Solo and was wondering if I should plan the trip from Yogyakarta to Sola (1 hour on train) for that same day (after dinner or something) or the next day (if I need to stay until late in Prambanan).

EDIT: It is on the 24th of July (I am aware that it will be crowded)

How do you get to Prambanan temple?

  • Find a Koridor 1A or 1B bus stop in downtown Yogyakarta. These bus stops are named Halte Malioboro 1 and 2, and Halte Ahmad Yani on Jalan Malioboro. There is also Halte Senopati 2 on Jalan Panembahan Senopati.
  • Ride the bus to the final stop, Terminal Prambanan. Local bus tickets cost 3,600 IDR / $0.25.

  • How far is Prambanan from Borobudur?

Although Borobudur is about 19 km (12 miles) by air from Prambanan, it is not easy to reach one temple from another. The ride from Borobudur to Prambanan takes from an hour and a half to two hours.

    Why is Prambanan temple famous?

Indeed, the temple complex is the largest Hindu temple in ancient Java, with no other Javanese temples ever surpassed its scale. Prambanan served as the royal temple of the Kingdom of Mataram, with most of the state's religious ceremonies and sacrifices being conducted there.
