Staying in Hostels in December in Europe [closed]

I am planning to stay in Hostels in multiple European cities towards December end but i am a little skeptical as have never stayed in them before.

  1. Will they be warm enough in Winters? I read somewhere that i should carry a sleeping bag.
  2. I plan to carry a small backpack and a luggage. I heard that generally storage is provided for one backpack only. Do we need to pay for extra storage?
  3. Are they safe enough to leave valuables inside while exploring the city?

EDIT:

I will be staying in Berlin, Reykjavik, Prague
