For domestic flights in the US, when your boarding pass is scanned at the gate, does the gate agent make sure that pass was also scanned at security?

Except for one experimental program, the two aren't connected. CAT/BPSS is still being 'tested'. (Note, I'd totally forgotten about this so after following up, it appears that even CAT/BPSS is not real-time, it's merely a better document verification system.)

The scanners TSA currently uses validate some facets of the boarding pass, but are otherwise isolated.

Can you scan boarding pass twice?

No, but it is not considered as a double checkin. You have the same seat and the same sequence number. You only print your boarding pass twice.

Is a screenshot of a boarding pass acceptable?

Why is online check in not available?

Unfortunately, online check-in isn't always an option and you may be denied the chance to do so if: You've been (randomly) selected for secondary screening. You requested special assistance for a child traveling alone or a wheelchair. You are traveling as a large group (many people under the same booking reservation)

Can boarding passes be scanned from phone?

A mobile boarding pass works just like a paper ticket. It contains your name, flight number and a QR code that can be scanned by TSA agents as well as by flight staff before you board the plane.
