I accidentaly left money in my checked baggage flying from Germany to Brazil. It is something like 400 Euro. I realized this only as I was already flying. How often is the baggage X ray scanned? Is there a chance it will be OK?

How much money can I put in my luggage?

If you are on a domestic flight in the US, there is no limit to the amount of cash or monetary instruments that you can carry. However, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) security officers at the passenger screening area may ask a passenger who is carrying a large sum of cash to account for the money.

Can luggage be paid for with cash?

You pay when you check your luggage in at the airport. They do accept Visa debit cards, and cash at some locations.
