My family and I are due to travel to Marrakech and Agadir this week (Thusday 7th August) and despite the fact that the Ebola outbreak is mainly affecting West Africa, such as Sierra Leone, would it still be safe to travel?

It is not meaningfully less safe to go to Morocco, now, in relation to the Ebola outbreak in west Africa. There are vastly more better and tighter commercial and social ties between the west African countries and France and the UK than with Morocco.

Was ebola in Morocco?

The simple answer is no. The other potential concern is that in Morocco there is a migrant population from west Africa that enter Morocco through land borders, and are often undocumented. There is a slight risk that someone carrying the virus could pass into Morocco and remain unknown.

Can you travel with Ebola?

Spread of Ebola on a plane or in an airport is NOT likely. However, CDC is being extra careful to ensure your safety. Most sick people on planes do not have Ebola, even if they are traveling from a country where Ebola is spreading.
