I am a British citizen residing in South Africa. In June I will be visiting family in the UK accompanied by my South African wife who holds a valid C Business visa (expiring in 2018). Under the new regulations, can my wife use her existing visa to enter the UK or must she apply for a new visitor visa?

This document on "transitional provisions for visitors" seems to say that your wife's business visa now functions as a standard visitor visa:

Can I visit the UK twice in a tourist visa holding of a 6 month multi visit visa?

That six-month limit on any one stay applies even if the visit visa is valid for much longer, such as a two-year, five-year or ten-year multi-entry visa. The visitor is permitted to stay in the UK for a maximum of six months from the date of any given entry (or up to the expiry date on the visa, whichever is soonest).
