Thousand Islands are apparently very picturesque but there seems to be very little information on how to explore them other than a few cruise companies found via Google.

How does one visit the islands starting on the Canadian without owning a boat?

According to google maps, there seems to be a couple of car ferries between the main land and the biggest islands. kingston to wolf island mainland to howe island.

Same thing on the US side.

I also suggest going to Prince Edward County for the wineries.
