Is separate DS -160 form needed for my baby for US B1/B2 visa? and should I pay a separate fee for him(= 160 US$)?

Best Answer

Yes, I'm afraid so if your baby requires a B-1/B-2 visa, with some very exceptional exceptions. The current Nonimmigrant visa application processing fees (non-refundable) for all categories are set out here. Depending upon nationality a Reciprocity fee may be payable in addition.

What if my baby is born overseas?

If you are a U.S. citizen (or non-citizen national) and have a child overseas, you should report their birth at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate as soon as possible so that a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) can be issued as an official record of the child's claim to U.S. citizenship or nationality.

How do I register my child as a U.S. citizen?

If you are the U.S. citizen parent of a minor child, you can help your child get a certificate of citizenship. You need to fill out and file Form N-600 Application for Certificate of Citizenship. If your child is over 18, they need to sign the form themselves.

Is a child born to a U.S. citizen abroad?

A child born outside of the United States or its outlying possessions to two U.S. citizen parents, in wedlock, is entitled to citizenship, provided one of the parents had, prior to the birth of the child, been resident in the United States or one of its outlying possessions.

What happens if a child is born in a foreign country but his or her parents are American citizens?

A person born abroad in wedlock to two U.S. citizen parents acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under section 301(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), if at least one of the parents had a residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions prior to the person's birth.
