As outlined in a related question, Eurostar charges less money for short-term return trips than it does for one-way trips. Assuming one only needs a one-way ticket to/from the UK and buys a throwaway return ticket, can they expect any issues later on?

I'm mostly interested in how it works in practice, not what it says in their T&C.

Can I sell my Eurostar ticket to someone else?

From the Eurostar Conditions of Carriage, Section C Use of Tickets, subsection 10 You may not transfer your ticket to anyone else: 'Tickets already partly used, or made out in a passenger's name, are non-transferable and may only be used by the person for whom the ticket has been purchased.

A little discovery that might be useful to those of you who have received a voucher from Eurostar for a cancelled Eurostar journey, but would actually prefer, or need, a refund. You can phone Eurostar Reservations (03432 186 186) and say that you'd like your voucher converted to a refund. And they will do it for you.
