Do I need to label my luggage on the French TGV?

I'm travelling by TGV in France early tomorrow morning.

I just spotted this little bit on my ticket:

We remind you that luggage must be labelled with your surname and first name.

I've generally not had an issue with not having my luggage labelled when travelling by train in various countries. Also, I've obviously left this very late so I'd rather not have to rush and get a durable label from somewhere in the morning.

So, is this a recommendation or a solid rule? Should I worry if my luggage isn't labelled?

Can you bring luggage on TGV?

On board the TGV trains, you can carry hand luggage (suitcases, travel bags, backpacks), folded children's strollers and your skis. Where do you put your luggage on TGV?

For travel on TGV INOUI or TGV France-Italy trains Carry-on luggage and other small bags can be stored at your feet, under your seat or above your seat. Other luggage can be stored at the end or middle of your coach, or in the empty space on the floor between seats placed back-to-back.

What do you do with suitcases on a train?

Luggage should be stored in the overhead luggage racks, under the seats and in the luggage compartments throughout the train. On some longer distance trains, it may be possible to store luggage in a separate area of the train.

How do I label my luggage on Eurostar?

Eurostar wants luggage left at the end of the carriage (not bags kept near you on the overhead rack) to be tagged with your name, carriage and seat number, and physical tickets used to be provided with tags.
