I booked a train ticket on the Yeswantpur (Yeshvantapur, YPR) to Pondicherry (Puducherry, ODY) route. I gave my boarding point as Hosur. My reservation is from Yeswantpur. Am I entitled to board at Banaswadi (BAND) or Krishnarajapuram (KR Puram, KJR)?

If TC will find the seat is vacant from Hosur then He can give it to next waiting passengers. You need to change your Boarding point again.

Can we change boarding point twice?

Boarding point change is allowed only once. Boarding station can be changed before 24 hours of the scheduled departure of train.

Can I board a train after 2 stations from where I bought the ticket?

Yes you can board it only on next two stations. And if you fail to do so the T.T.E can allot your seat to other person as per railways rules.

How can I change my boarding point in train ticket?

Login to IRCTC website, with your login ID and password. Go to 'Booking Ticket History'. Select your train and go for change boarding point, the new page will open up. Select the new boarding station from the drop-down, under change boarding station section.

Can boarding point be changed in IRCTC?

Go to My Account > My Transactions > Booked Ticket History. Select the ticket for which you want to change the boarding station and select the 'Change Boarding Point' option. A pop up window will appear with a list of stations between the selected train route. Choose your desired boarding point.
