After a 6 month tourist visa can I come back to the UK on a fiance visa in order to get married the same year

After a 6 month tourist visa can I come back to the UK on a fiance visa in order to get married the same year - Back view of anonymous bride and groom holding hands while standing in woods near trees against bright sun beams in nature

I have been in the UK for 4 months and want to go back for another month within the 6 months of my multiple entry visitor visa.

I am now also in the process of completing my fiancé visa as well. The plan is that I will return later in the year to get married.

I just wanted to check if this was allowed as overall I will be in the UK for longer than 6 months this year, albeit that it will be on two visas - a visitor visa and a fiancé visa. Is this allowed?

The UK does not have a rule on how long one could spend in the country during a given time period. At the border, officials may look at frequent, repeated, or regular visits and consider whether they coincide with visa- or visa-free-entry conditions. Your stay was to to maintain your relationship, very much in line with your intended marriage and your return with an appropriate visa.

Can I leave the UK after 6 months and come back?

Your new Visitor immigration permission may not be for a further six months: the Border Force Officer may give you just the time you need to complete your studies, or six months minus the length of time you recently spent in the UK as a Visitor.

Can you leave and reenter the UK on a fiancé visa?

The initial UK fiance visa is valid for multiple entries up until the point of marriage. You must not leave the country after the wedding as the minute you marry your loved one in the UK, your fiance visa technically becomes invalid for reentry.

When can I return to the UK after 6 months?

One of the most common UK immigration myths is that there is a maximum permitted stay of 180 days in a year (or six months in 12 months) for UK visit visa holders. This myth has been propagated not just by migrants but also by advisers and even UK Border Force staff. In reality, there is no such rule.

Can you switch from a tourist visa to a spouse visa UK?

No. Unfortunately, you cannot switch from a Visitor Visa to any other visa in the UK. The Visitor Visa is intentioned as a way of coming to the UK in order to visit and not for permanent stay in the UK. The UK offers many alternative visa routes for this possibility but the Visitor Visa is not one of them.
